Breath Freshener

Take a slice of cucumber and hold it on the roof of your mouth with your tongue for a couple of minutes, then discard. This will help cleanse bacteria from your mouth. If your tongue is often furry or your breath smells unpleasant, it is likely that you have bacteria in your gut or a candida infection.

Night on the Town

If you want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache after your night out, eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed. Cucumbers contain enough natural sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost to alcohol, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and a headache.

Compulsive Snacker

When you feel tired in the afternoon or evening ... pick up a cucumber instead of the carbonated drink or the chocolate bar. Cucumber is often used by trappers, traders and explorers for quick meals to ward off starvation. The Vitamins and Carbohydrates contained in a cucumber provide that quick lift which can last for hours.

To freshen up your skin and reduce the visibility of cellulite, try rubbing cucumber on your face, legs or other problem area for a few minutes. The phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite whilst you enjoy a dip in the pool. Great food for your confidence.

Stressed Out ...

Cut up a whole cucumber and place it in a pan of boiling water. The chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber will react with the boiling water and will be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma. This is very useful if you are revising, or nervous about exams, or if you are a new mother with a demanding baby to take care of.

Quirky Cucumber

  • Rub a freshly cut cucumber over your Shoes. The chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that looks great and also repels water.
  • Take a slice of cucumber and rub it along a squeaky hinge to remove the problem.
  • Use a slice of cucumber to remove tarnish on stainless steel items and sinks. Won't leave streaks and is green and eco-friendly.
  • Rub a cucumber over your bathroom mirror to eliminate the fogging and provide a soothing spa fragrance.

Organic Gardener Friendly ...

Place a few slices of cucumber in a small aluminium pie tin and leave it among your plants. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminium to give off a scent undetectable to humans. Slugs and bugs are driven crazy by the smell and soon vacate your plot to leave the goodies ... and the Cucumbers ... for you.
